Christmas time pics

Hey Everyone,

Well we made it back from MN after a fun filled week. Logan did great again on the flights. The very last flight coming back to CA, he fell asleep before we even got to altitude and woke up when we were on final. He had a blast sledding and playing with all of his cousins and his new toys. I think he enjoyed opening presents a little more this year too since he knew there was something fun to play with underneath the wrapping paper this time around. The time went by way to fast and before we knew it, it was time to head back to CA. So, here we are back home in rainy California. We have a 4 day weekend and for once I think KT wishes she was back in MN with family and friends.... I do too. It was fun playing hockey with my brother and Abby, watching Logan play with his cousins, sledding and just hanging out and relaxing for a change. Thanks again to Grandpa and Grandma Hawkinson for putting up with us and for the tickets. I will have to post some more pics of Christmas later, but here are some pics with family.

The Renegade...

Here is our little renegade Logan. Last night he was being hilarious, running around the house for over an hour. He's getting really good at walking, although, he looks pretty funny with his chest puffed out, arms flailing, and silly facial expressions.

Oh, and never-mind the mess. Logan threw the mail all over the floor and thought it was really fun to walk all over it.

We are really excited to head to the tundra to spend Christmas with family and friends. In a week we will be flying in for a short visit. Can't wait to get Logan and Cameron together again.

Well, this is a short one as we are pretty busy, but wanted to share this gem of a video with you all! Ciao for now!

Happy Halloween...

Err, sorry I am a little late here. Things have been busy as usual here. Kt has been slaving away trying to get as much school work done as possible and my job has me going 100mph even on my time off.
Logan is also staying in style and on his own speedy pace and always busy and wanting to be on the go. We went for a half hr walk yesterday. He enjoys holding our fingers and just starts going. Nowhere special, just anywhere outside. It rained the majority of last week so he had plenty of energy couped up in the house here. Kt's mother Kathy was out for the weekend to give KT some time off to study which was a tremendous help to her.
We're looking forward to coming back to MN in less than two weeks now. I cant wait to take Logan sledding. I'm sure he will have a blast even though he hasnt ever been in the snow. Sounds like there will be plenty of it when we get there.
Logan is getting better at walking and shows much initiative to walk almost everywhere now. Only when he is in a hurry, like when the outside door is open, does he crawl. He also has been talking and saying words a lot more. Truck, puff, shoe, ball, car, sock, momma, dadda are just some of the favorites that he knows the meanings of. He can also high-five and wave.
Well, I think that's about all the time I have right now, but stay tuned for Christmas pics and real winter weather soon.

Thanksgiving 2010

Hello friends and family. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Above is Logan Thanksgiving 2010 and Thanksgiving 2009. He went from a baby to a little boy so quickly! We had a nice Thanksgiving this year. It was pretty quiet. We went to the park with Logan in the morning. It was chilly! He had a good time though. Then I spent the rest of the day cooking. We didn't even dress Logan up in anything cute, sorry. He gets everything so messy lately and usually wears at least two outfits a day! Above he was in his jammies already. Below is the spread of food. Yup, we have leftovers for a while, and yup, that is Comcast's yule log on the TV. We were pretending we had a fireplace. Don't judge.
Well, we missed family this holiday, but we will be back in MN before you know it! That's about it for now. Be sure to check out Logan's video below of him walking. Goodnight!

Video of Logan walking

Grandma's View

Hello Family & Friends of Sean, Katie & Logan,
Grandpa Bob and I are thoroughly enjoying our visit with S, K, & Logan. He is such a busy, happy guy - go, go, going all the time he's not sleeping or eating! His grin and laugh are disarming, and you can't help but smile with him. He has learned to do something new every day we've been here, from waving to music (like a maestro conducting an orchestra) to saying "Ah" in response to a little cue, to taking steps more confidently and quickly while still holding a helpful hand. It's so fun to watch the eagerness to learn in his eyes; I'm glad we have been here to share these moments!

Logan loves to go outside from the early morning to dark evening and was surprised it was raining the other night. When I pick him up, he points to the door! He rides in his red car as we tour the neighborhood or his fingers open and close and his legs "run" with excitement when he sees Sean's truck. We toured a Pave Hawk helicopter today, and Logan was in seventh heaven when he saw all the control buttons! Pushing buttons on Mommy and Daddy's computers is a close second favorite activity. He's definitely got the instincts of a gadget guy!

Logan is learning to climb on and ride his toy zebra (and big toy truck), has his own LeapTop computer and numerous talking and/or musical books, trucks, and toys. There are plenty of educational opportunities for him to learn and have fun with; he also loves crawling through his Thomas the Train tunnel and play tent from Sean and Katie. And he makes really good truck sounds as he "drives" them on any surface. "Brrrmmmm!"

Sean and Katie are also doing well, look good and are pretty absorbed and centered on their little boy. As a mom, it's great fun to watch my son grow into a caring, watchful, playful dad, and Katie is a devoted mom. We fly home on Saturday, and it will be hard to leave them, but we look forward to seeing them in December for the holidays. Until then, we have two more days to enjoy the laughs, giggles, squeals and delights of a cute little grandson and his parents.

YAY ITS MY BIRTHDAY

Hello Everyone,

Well, believe it or not, Logan is already 1 year old today. Time has gone by so fast and it seems like yesterday we were at the hospital awaiting his arrival. Actually, by this time last year, I think Katie was getting her first bit of rest in 3 days.
Well, Logan had a blast for his Birthday. We started the day off sitting in my truck playing with all the gadgets and pretending to drive around.... one of his Favorite pastimes.
My mother and Step dad are here from Minnesota to share in the celebrations, so we headed down to the Monterrey Aquarium for the afternoon. It's such a fun place down there for everyone, and we genuinely enjoy spending every minute there. Logan is so intrigued with all the fish and marine life. Attached are some pics of him having the time of his life there.
After that we came back here to open the rest his presents. It didn't take him long to catch on what the wrapping paper was all about and before long he was unwrapping every present piece by piece. We will have to post some more pics as he uses all his new toys, but I think he should be pre-occupied for some time without getting bored thanks to everyone who bought him a present.
Over the last couple days he has been getting 3 teeth in all at the same time so he hasn't been the chipperest of lil critters, but I am pretty sure the abundance of fun today was more than enough to forget any discomfort he has had.
Mom and Bob are here with us for another day before they venture south to San Luis Obispo for a couple days before returning back here for a few more days before they leave. It sure is fun having family out to visit. Makes us wish we didn't live so far away sometimes. They are both really into photography, so its been nice looking at all the quality pics at the end of the day. For some of us whose memories aren't what they used to be, it will provide smiles and laughs for plenty of years to come.
Anyway, without further ado here are some pics

November?!

Wow, it is November already. Little did I know last year at this time I would be giving birth to Logan this week!! He just couldn't wait to meet the world, so he had to come out 2 1/2 weeks early. Well, Logan's first Halloween was fun. Friday night we went over to Amy Jo and Bevan's to carve pumpkins and had a wonderful dinner. They also gave Logan his birthday present a little early. He LOVES it. He knows how to climb on it himself and when he's on, he claps. Hehe, what a ham. Last night Logan dressed up as a giraffe, mommy was a greek goddess, and daddy was a hockey player (go figure). He had no idea what the heck was going on, but oh well. We had lots of tricker treaters and a nice dinner with Amy Jo. The weekend went fast.
Thursday Grandma Lynda and Grandpa Bob are coming out to visit!! Logan is excited!! I'm sure we will have some fun adventures. Logan's birthday is on Saturday, we aren't sure what we are going to do, but I'm sure cake and a mess will be involved =).
Still no walking yet from Mr. Logan. He isn't really that interested in it right now. He will do it when he is ready, and I'm sure we'll have some videos when it happens. Until then, here are some pics to feast your eyes on.

Here is Logan wearing Aunty Amy jo's hat

Logan's B-day present!

I Love It!!!!!! (My pants are all wet because I climbed in the dishwasher!!)

Well, there ya go. Once we get the pics of Halloween on the computer we will post some. Have a great day everyone!!!

Life on the beach

Too much fun!!!

Hello,

Here we are back again. We made it back home late last night after an incredibly fun week on vacation. The Hale Koa was great and we literally enjoyed every minute spent there. The waves were much smaller so Logan had a lot more fun playing in the water and we also hit up the kiddy pool a few times so he could play with other kids and not get sand all over his face. I think Logan's favorite part of the day was breakfast at Hale Koa though. I swear he must've put on a couple lbs every morning eating pancakes, fruits, eggs and cereal. Of course, then he would go play until he couldn't keep his little eyes open anymore and lose all the weight he put on earlier. He probably only cried less than a handful of times the entire week and then it was only when he was exhausted and needed a nap. We could easily spend a week there and I honestly think its the nicest place on the whole strip of Waikiki beach.
KT had a great Birthday hanging out on the beaches of the north shore of Kauai too. We were all pretty exhausted at the end of the day.
Waking up sipping coffee on the deck listening to the waves crash on the beach while enjoying watching the palm tree branches sway in the gentle breeze and the spinner dolphins breach was entirely too much fun and relaxation. If only that was normal life.
Unfortunately its not and we are back in rainy and nippy California today reminiscing our vacation and pondering when we can go back already. I think next time we will do a two week trip and spend a week at each place... anyone interested in joining in???
Anyway, without further ado, here are the videos and some more pics as promised...

YAY were on vacation!!!

Aloha from Kauai Everyone,
We are here for two more nights before we jump islands and head to Oahu. We have had so much fun already and Logan is having the time of his life playing in the water here. The weather has been perfect, highs in the low 80’s and the low’s in the 70’s. The water is in the low 80’s too. Yesterday we headed up to the north shore to check out the lighthouse and enjoy some of the beaches for Katie’s Birthday before heading back to Shenanigans for dinner. Chris and Elise bought a birthday cake to end the days celebrations back at the beach cottages.
Logan has been busy playing in the waves on the beach, watching mommy snorkel and watching all the birds fly by. We’ve seen sand crabs, a sea turtle, Hawaiian geese, a pod of spinner dolphins, boats, and airplanes so far. He also did really good on the airplane. The gate attendant moved us to a three seat row so we were able to bring his car seat on board and put it between us which he crawled around on for most of the flight.
Kt had a fun day lounging on the beach and snorkeling in the warm water for her Birthday. There are lots of fish right off shore and she even saw an eel. Tomorrow we are going to stop at the Kauai Coffee Company before our flight to stock up on some yummy coffee. hopefully we can make this a somewhat regular vacation as its so convenient for us and still so much to do and see.
We did however have to change cottages. The original one had mice crawling around the kitchen and trying to raid our food along with a wasp nest on the porch. Where is Toulie when you need her? It’s also the wedge tailed Shearwater bird mating season. They are burrowing sea birds and have built their dens underneath and around the cottages. So instead of listening to waves crashing on the beach we have been listening to seabird mating calls which sound very similar to Logan crying. Anyway, the new place is only about a year old and is much, much nicer. We actually got a really good night sleep last night and feel refreshed today.
Tomorrow we are heading to the Hale Koa in the afternoon where we will spend the last two nights of the vacation…. Will try to post more pics then, but here are a few…. And a video or two

Logan is 11 months today!!!

Hello Everyone! Yup, Logan is 11 months today, and to celebrate, here is a video of him practicing standing. He can actually do it really well....when he wants to. Still no steps yet though. (Sorry about the beeping in the background, dinner was ready!).
Logan and I have been sick for a few days. It makes for quite a boring day. We kind of had a routine going where we would go to the YMCA, I would workout and he would play, and it was awesome. Oh well, we shall return again someday.
Logan started doing some cute things lately too. We have this brush laying around downstairs, so I always brush his hair with it when we are playing by it. So today, he grabbed the brush and started brushing his own hair! Smarty pants! He also makes a "vrooming" noise when he pushes his dump truck, emulating a noise Sean makes when he plays with it. He's getting to be quite a smart little bugger. He's been sleeping pretty well too. Many nights he sleeps through the whole night. Of course there are those when he wakes up at 3AM and wants Mommy.
It's not all puppies and rainbows over here though. Lately he's started screaming at the top of his lungs when he is mad or doesn't get his way, and with him being sick, his moods are fluctuating a lot. Hopefully he gets better soon. He is also getting picky with his food. He likes to feed himself, so we have to come up with food ideas that he can pick up with his fingers and can't choke on. He loves banana and kiwi and bread the most.
We are headed to Hawaii in less than two weeks. We are pretty excited. Don't know how relaxing it's going to be with a one year old in tow, but it's going to be fun! What an awesome way to spend my birthday!! We are staying four nights in Kauai and two in Oahu.
That's about all for now. Hope all is well with everyone else! We did watch the Twins game tonight....boooo.

A day in the life of an energetic little boy!!!

Well we got the "red dart" for Logan to ride, but as you can see he has just as much fun out and about moving around as he, and others, do riding it....
Today was the first real breezy day with a cooler nip in the air here. It was perfect weather for the lil guy to put on a fleece jacket and go play before the rainy season starts.

the Red Dart rides again...

Hey everyone,
Just thought I would try to upload a new video of Logan and his favorite toy... EVER.
