Life on the Prairie

Here are few pics of the incredible views on the high desert.

July Photo's

Greetings All,

Well, we made it back to CA this week. My drive with Erik and Noah went prety uneventful. Noah had a great time seeing all the new sights and even got to taste the salt water and dip his toes in the Santa Cruz Bay after hitting up the Chill Out Cafe. They left today. Unfortunately they had to get back before they set out on the next road trip to Kansas City for the twins game.
Kt and Logan came into SFO last night. After a long day they were pretty knackered and by the time we got home it was early this morning. I think they were as happy and relieved as I was to be back home again though. Logan didnt take a nap until early this afternoon as he was having too much finally roaming the almost new house for him. At least now he has some legs under him that allow him to explore for himself. Yup, you heard correctly. Logan learned to crawl about 2 or 3 days before we left Minnesota while at my father's place and has been zooming about ever since.
So here are some pics of our first day back....

Summer playtime

Hello,
Well we are back again with some more pictures of Logan enjoying his first summer. The end of the Minnesota summer fun is nearing the end, and we will soon be back home in CA, but for now we are enjoying all the playtime we can. Here is Logan out back in the pool splashing and staying cool in the hot humid sun.
It's been almost two weeks back now, but it has gone by so fast. We have mostly been relaxing and spending time together though we have done some cool things like see the Dead sea Scrolls, and Logan went skinny dipping in the lake too. Next week Erik and Noah (my brother and nephew) are planning on helping me make the westward voyage back to CA... again. I'll miss Katie and Logan again for a few days till we get out there and KT and Logan arrive via plane. It'll be much easier for Logan to fly although I look forward to the day when we do a cross country trip with the little guy.
We will definitely miss being back around family and friends though. I'm not sure how KT does it when I am gone on work trips. It's always a pleasure being back here around everyone and seeing the familiar sites.
Anyway, here are the pics!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Hello Everyone,

Well I made it back safely and am back home with Logan and KT now. It feels SOO good. Thank you all for the support and well wishes. It's been a long 3 months to say the least....
I got back to the States on the 2nd after spending 2 days in Kyrgyzstan, Romania and Ireland. The 3rd I traveled back to CA to in-process and then jumped on a buddy pass that I got from Heidi and Rick.... Thanks guys.
I even had a greeting party at the gate which made the welcome back that much more memorable. One of the biggest worries when I left was that Logan wouldn't remember me when I got back, but I was surprised by a big smile and a hug when he saw me. We've been best buds since then, although he definitely is a "momma's boy" and never her lets out of his sights and watches her every move when he's not in her arms.
The next day, the 4th, we headed up to the cabin for the holiday weekend. Logan had a blast in the water and enjoyed himself outside in the sun and on the boat. Here are a few pics.....
I hope everyone was able to enjoy the holiday weekend.
Kt and I are planning on spending a couple weeks back here in MN before I head back to CA. I have 3 weeks off, of which probably one week will be spent driving the car back home.
Thanks again for all the support. Kt and I greatly appreciated everything!!
