Yosemite bound

Hello Everyone,

Well, we are back from a pre-weekend of fun in Yosemite. It was great. Good weather, scenic, warm and pretty relaxing for the most part. It was a first for many things.... Logan's first trip to the Valley, his first time getting his feet wet in the Merced river, Kt's first time downhill skiing in California, and our first time staying in the Awhanee hotel. They upgraded our room for free so we had a balcony on the 4th floor facing Yosemite Falls and the other window (we had a corner unit) faced Glacier Point. The views were incredible of course, and the room was really nice inside too. Wine in the evening and coffees for breakfast on the balcony was definitely hard to beat. I think a couple thousand feet up a wall is the only view better, but the sleep isnt nearly as good as the hotel.
Kt, tore it up at Badger Pass on Thursday too with AmyJo and Bevan. It was a total bluebird day, and although it was T-shirt skiing weather KT had a blast and even jumped on a Black Diamond on her first day out. She did awesome as expected. Logan and I hung out in the Chalet and watched for most of the day.
As mentioned earlier, Logan dipped his feet in the Merced to cool off after staring at El Cap while his old man pointed out some routes he did back in the day. There's still one more route to do, so maybe he will get to watch me one of these days. One of Logan's highlights among the plethora, was scrunching his toes in the sand too. He had a total blast and couldnt stop wiggling those lil dogs in the soft sand along the shore.
Today we headed up to the Super Nova wall to take in the views of Cascade Falls, Rostrum and Reed's Pinnacle. There were some climbers heading up Reed's Direct and despite my best efforts not to give a play-by-play, he may have gotten too much beta to call it an onsight when his day comes.... haha
All in all, we had a fabulous time and it was really hard to leave as it always is. We're definitely planning our return trip this fall after we get back from our summers excursions.
YAY, cant wait already!!!

March Madness

Hi Everyone! We hope March has reached everyone well. We, as usual, are busy busy. Logan is growing and discovering new things everyday while daddy is working tons and mommy is trying to keep up with Logan and school work and house work. The months are flying by. Logan is already over four months old. He had his 4 month physical on Thursday. He is still 90th percentile for height (26.5 inches), 25% for weight (13lbs 3 oz) and 50% for head size. His pedi said he looked wonderful and was really happy with his progress. His reflux is doing fabulous, just a few bouts of it here and there, mainly when he is lying flat, so we still have him sleeping elevated and in his sling. He also got some shots and cried much less this time than the first time! What a big, brave boy. Logan is just learning how to grab his toys. He always brings them to his mouth right away to suck on, other than that there is no interest to play with them yet. He also really likes to stand. We have a feeling he is going to skip crawling altogether.
Sean is busy with work as usual. With an inspection coming up and a deployment around the corner, there is not enough time in the day to get everything done. He has a fitness test coming up, so he needs to work out a bunch and is also trying to upgrade his rank to Master Sergeant, so he has a full plate. He still find some time to sneak in special time with Logan.
I am trying to keep up with school, my class on Medieval Europe is very interesting, but time to study for it is scarce as Logan doesn't take many naps. However, this weekend we have implemented a new napping routine, so hopefully that works better. I am is very excited to go back to MN to be around family and get some more help with Logan. The day to leave (April 14th) will come extremely fast, I know.
This coming week we are going to Yosemite with our good friends the Hart's and staying in the Awahnee hotel. We never thought we would ever stay there because the rooms are so expensive, but they had a really good deal going that we just couldn't pass up. Plus Sean wanted a nice trip to go on before deployment. So we will be spending St. Patty's day there. We hope to get a day of skiing in and just relax and take in the sights. We will for sure get some good pics of Logan's first time to Yosemite. Well, that is about all for now. We hope you enjoy these recent pics of Logan and have a happy St. Patrick's day! We will see all you Minnesotans in a month!
Love, Katie, Sean, Logan, and Toulie

Spring is in the air!!!

Hello Everyone,

Well not much time here as usual. It seems to be an on going trend here lately, but we are all doing well here and have been busy traveling. A little over a week ago the 3 of us flew to Albuquerque for Lisa's wedding (my youngest sister). It was awesome and Lisa dazzled us all that evening. We will try and get some pics up from the grandparents when we can. It was a blast hanging out with the family and seeing new sites. It was Kt's first time to New Mexico so another State crossed off the list for her. It was my ol' stomping grounds for me so it was great to see some of my fav places to eat and see. We took the tram to the top of the Sandia's and it was Logan's first epic ride to Altitude and into some bitter cold wind. He liked it though and the views were incredible as usual.
Logan also got his first swim in the pool too. I don't think it will be long before he is doggy paddling and doing underwaters. He didn't show much expression so we will take that as a plus.
After the ABQ trip I picked up my old friend and headed up to Lake Tahoe for a medical course. The classes were excellent and by far the best refresher ever. Besides the informative lectures I got some skiing, snow mobiling and xc skiing in. Katie and Logan came up half way through the week and spent my birthday with me. Logan didn't sleep very well up there, but he slept almost 10 hrs when we got home. Katie caught up on her sleep then too.
This week we're back at the grinding stone with school work and office work for me.
Anyway, I'm off to watch the lil man again.

:)
