Christmas Eve and I can't wait till tomorrow

Just thought we would share a few pics of an early present Logan got to open and play with today. He sure cant wait till tomorrow though as he knows Santa is coming tonight.
I have been off this entire week so its been truly way too much fun playing all day with him and hanging out with Katie. Time has flown by though and heading back to work next week. Until then, we will make the most of our sunny and warm California weather, although we sincerely miss the snow and winter activities.
Anyway, more to come tomorrow.
Merry Christmas everyone

Baby girl update

Hello! Here is a profile pic of our baby girl at 31 weeks (sorry about the annoying flash). As I mentioned, I had to have a growth ultrasound last week to see how big she was. The ultrasound went great, she is in the 34th percentile, so, a little bit small, but they only start to worry when they are 10th percentile or less. So, she is doing great!
On another note, she is transverse (laying sideways in there), and has been for several weeks now. It makes me nervous because if she doesn't flip over, a c-section could be in our horizon. I was thinking about trying to have her with no meds this time around, and now I'm just hoping that I can deliver her myself. With the abnormalities of my uterus, it is not safe to do a version (turn the baby by hand). If you are unaware of my abnormality, I have a bicornuate uterus, it is heart shaped. So right now, her head is up in one lobe, her butt is down at the bottom, and her feet are in the other lobe, a very precarious position! Her positioning has been causing a lot of discomfort during the last few weeks of my pregnancy. In the end, just having a healthy baby is what matters, so it is a waiting game right now to see if she can flip herself head down. We still have time.
Anyway, hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. We are sure going to miss not spending the time with family and friends this year. However, we are pretty excited for Logan this year as he has more of a grip on what's going on. I'm sure we will post some awesome present opening pics!
Hugs and Kisses,
Katie

December?!

Wow, where did December come from? It snuck up on us, I guess. Well here is a pic of me at 30 weeks along. Time is going by so fast! I don't feel ready for peanut #2 yet!! Yikes!
This little drama queen has kept up her status and put mommy in Labor & Delivery last week. Everything checked out okay, I was just ordered to stay off my feet as much as possible. I had an appt. with my OB yesterday and she did some ultrasounds and said everything still looks okay. She ordered another ultrasound to check the baby's growth because she is measuring a little small. Just a precaution to check it out. We will get that done next Wednesday.
I am feeling so uncomfortable already, I really feel like there is no way I will make it to 40 weeks. We at least have to make it to about 37 weeks though for baby to be in the clear. It's hard to rest and relax with a rambunctious 2 year old running the house!

We are really bummed to not make it home for Christmas this year, but it is probably the best for me not to travel at this point. We will miss family so much! It will be my first Christmas ever away from home! *tear*.

Anyway, that's about it here. Logan is still doing great, talking up a storm. He's such a smart little bugger. He now says "baby sister" and points to my belly. I'm still not sure how much he gets though. It will be quite an adjustment for him, I think. We hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. We will be thinking about you all.

Love,
Katie

Logan is 2 now!!!

Hello Everyone,

Well what can we say but how much this little bugger has changed our lives and how fast time has gone. Its hard to believe that it has already been over two years now. I still remember being pretty hesitant about having kids of my own because I didn't think I had the patience nor the aptitude to raise my own. Needless to say I cant imagine life without him now and I think I am more excited to come home and see him everyday than he is.
Logan's birthday came and went. We all had a blast and we enjoyed the entire weekend together. He got to do some of his favorite activities including camping, driving his new trucks, bike riding and just plain playing outside...
He is really smart. He has excelled far above every one of his progress reports at the dr office. His vocabulary is well over 100 words now and he knows much more than he usually says. Jumping is one of his newest favorite activities as is jumping some of his new monster trucks off of cardboard boxes. Caillou is still his favorite TV show but he is slowly opening up to Thomas the train and friends. A walk anytime of the day will bring a smile to his face but he has thoroughly enjoyed going for walks in the dark with a new green keychain light that he likes to shine at every bug he sees. He also has a healthy sense of imagination that is pretty entertaining and likes to pretend he is eating bugs from some of his bug books. Building tunnels with the furniture is something that occupies his time recently too. Although rebuilding it is required every 30 seconds due to being continually jumped on.
Well, we can only imagine what this next year will bring. Sincere enjoyment and plenty of smiles is hopefully and almost certain. Stay tuned for another exciting year of our little monster.
Here are a few recent pics from when Grandma Lynda and Grandpa Bob were in town.

Stroller and Halloween!

Here is a pic of our new double stroller! Yay! I love it! Sooo excited about it. We got the large part of it a while ago, but the seat underneath we just got today. The stroller is really inter-changable. Logan can sit on top or bottom and a car seat can go on top or bottom, etc. Lots of ways to use it! I wanted a stroller that wasn't too wide to go shopping and easy to push =). Let's just say I had to sell two strollers plus some to pay for it ;0).

Here is Mr. Logan with our pumpkins this year. He had fun carving pumpkins with Dada and he actually loved trick or treating! I didn't know if he'd get it, but he did, and he loved it. We only went to about 5 or 6 houses because this kid does not need candy, believe me. He knocked on the door all by himself and said "tick teet!" It was so cute. We have pics of him carving pumpkins and in his costume on our camera that we will post soon. Also, we went to Pump it Up, a fun jumpy house place on Friday, and he won for best costume! More to come later.

Peanut #2 - 24 weeks baking

So we haven't posted much about peanut #2 very much, however, most people know that we are having a girl by now. Mr. Logan keeps us on our toes all day every day, so I guess we haven't had much time to write.

Well, peanut #2 and myself are doing really well now. We had a pretty rough first trimester, including morning sickness all day for about two weeks. I have felt really good for a while now, so that is good. I need all the energy I can get taking care of Logan all day! It was kinda crazy how exactly opposite my pregnancies have been with Logan and this one, I was not surprised to find out that it was a girl kicking about in there! We are really excited though. Still have not chosen a name yet, soon hopefully.

Lately I have been working on my thesis a little more often. We have put aside three days a week that I go out of the house and work on it, I think it will help. We are also in the process of selling my car and getting a new more family friendly car. I love my Elantra and really don't want to sell it, but I know we will fit much better in a Santa Fe and my back will thank me later. Someone looked at my car and wants to buy it, so hopefully it all goes down this weekend. Maybe we will have a pic of my new car to post soon! We also purchased a double stroller already! The one I wanted was on sale for a really good price, so we had to snatch it up. Will have to post a pic of that soon too. Now we are selling our single strollers on craigslist to pay for that one! Ha! I just sold my BOB jogging stroller today and shed a few tears for it.

Here's a pic of the ever growing belly. Much bigger already this time around. This was taken after a long hard day too....lol. I'm ready to go to bed! Take care everyone!

Welcome back everyone, Well it is already fall and there is a distinct nip in the air, colds are going around and the tea kettle is whistling. Logan is almost 2 now. Less than one month away to be exact. Our trip to MN went well. It was too short for me (Sean) but Katie and Logan had a good time I think. It was nice to see nearly everyone. We are settling into normal life again back here. I head out for a week trip to Southern Arizona tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to it being my last trip till hopefully well after baby #2 comes. It's been raining here already, about a month ahead of time. There was already a winter storm warning for the Sierras this last week and it dumped almost 2 ft of snow. Hope its another record snowfall year again myself. Logan got a haircut before he came back out here so he is sporting the "grown up boy look" these days. He's also a little chatterbug complete with 3-4 word phrases now like "drink app (apple) juice" "going truck drive" and "going ride bike." Here are a few of the latest pics; you will have to wait for Katie to post the big boy looks pics as I only have the long-haired-surfer, grungy-climber, hockey-player, watch-me-shake-my-hair poses that I liked so much.

September News

Hello everyone! Happy September! Can't believe the summer went by that fast! We hope everyone had a nice labor day weekend before school started up. We took our trailer to Collins Lake with a few other families. It was a good time. Logan had a ton of fun swimming in the lake all day, playing in the sand, and playing with the other kid's toys. He was having so much fun he refused to nap the whole trip (grrrr). We had fun camping with other families as we had always taken our trailer out by ourselves before. We made the horrible mistake of not taking ANY pictures though!! We were naughty.

In other news, Logan peed on the potty for the first time yesterday! Here is a pic of Logan quite proud of himself and holding his treat, a thin mint girl scout cookie. He loves those! Let's see if we can make any progress. I don't think he's quite ready yet for it, but I'm going to keep encouraging it if it happens! What a big boy!
We are making a trip over to Minnesota around the second to last week of September. I have a friend's wedding to go to, so we decided to make a trip out of it. It might be our last trip out for a while, maybe until after baby #2 is born. Speaking of baby #2, we will hopefully be finding out if baby Kirsch will be a boy or girl on September 19th! A day or so before we head out to MN, so keep your ears open for that news!!! SO excited to find out! Hope all is well to our friends and family! We love you guys! Below is Logan still sporting his cheese face. Got to love him!

Summer is over?

Hello everyone. It's been a while, sorry. Where to start? My mom was just out here for a week to visit. It was great to have Grandma in town for sure! We had lots of fun, although we didn't really take any pictures, what a bummer!! To name a few things we did while she was here: we went to Santa Cruz, played on the beach and ate at the Crow's Nest, we took Logan to Happy Hollow park to play, I took mom on a surprise girl's night outing to the Mountain Winery to see Toad the Wet Sprocket (and they were great!), we went to a movie, mom watched Logan over night so Sean and I could get some R&R on a night away together, we refinished my bedroom set to match our new headboard, and probably more that I am forgetting. It really was so great to have her here.

As far as peanut #2 goes, he/she is growing like a weed! I will be 16 weeks on Monday and have been feeling pretty good. No more nausea!!! I still don't feel like I have gotten all my energy back, unfortunately. My belly is a lot bigger this time around. With Logan i started showing a little after 20 weeks and now I've had a bump for a couple weeks already! Getting really excited to find out if we are expecting a boy or a girl, hopefully soon!

Sean left today to go help at Hurricane Irene. A bummer not to have him around this weekend and even more of a bummer to not know when he is coming home. Hopefully the storm doesn't do too much damage over there! Until then, Logan and I are holding down the fort. Here are a couple pics to enjoy! Oh yes, and Logan discovered his "cheese" face, check it out.

much delayed update

Hello All,

Well first of all sorry for such a long break in posts. Hopefully everyone still knows the blog is ongoing. We have been super busy here and I have been gone more than I have been at home lately. Katie on top of having her hands full with a rambunctious 20 month old, has been busy trying to get any studying if she can.... and word is number 2 is on the way too. I will try and get a pic of the ultrasound up within the next couple days so check back and hopefully it doesnt take me 2 months again. She has been incredibly sick this time around so any energy she can muster gets sucked away to watching Logan. He has learned to play on his own more and he is a very creative thinker with a full sense of imagination. He is more than a handful with so much positive energy that by the time he goes to bed we often follow right behind.
So, I guess I should say more on #2.... Katie is about 10.5 weeks prego now and the ultrasound pic look like a sea horse so for now seahorsey is its name... We have had quite a few more complications this time around, hence the long delay in posting this but every time we go to the Dr it ends up being good news in the end so life is good here.
Logan knows so much now too. He talks all the time, and knows probably hundreds of words now and consistently knows what we are talking about when we are just conversing amongst each other. He can repeat the alphabet, and 1-10 and has also started saying colors on his own now too. He's so smart and everyone that comes over repeatedly tells us how smart they think he is. Obviously I am biased as he is my boy, but he definitely makes me proud when I hear that from others.
He is still a total daddies boy too and spends the day roaming the house calling for "daddy" when I am at work. He also knows that I fly on helicopters so every time he sees one fly over the house he wants to come into my work so we can go see " dadda's helicopter".
This weekend we are off to go camping with the trailer. We are heading down to Pinnacles National Monument which is about 2 hrs away. There's a pool and quite a few hiking trails so hopefully will have a bunch of new pics by the end of the weekend again. Its been a while since the camera got dusted off.
Stay tuned

This is Logan's new camping chair, he loves it!

MN vacation 2011, pt 1

Hello Everyone,

Well it is a little late, but here are some pics of our summer vacation back to MN. Also, sorry it has been over a month now since we have updated the blog. I will try to post updates here soon though. There are quite a few more pics to come.

Happy 4th everyone.
