Hello Everyone,

Well it is a little late, but here are some pics of our summer vacation back to MN. Also, sorry it has been over a month now since we have updated the blog. I will try to post updates here soon though. There are quite a few more pics to come.

Happy 4th everyone.

Excitement!!

Hello blog readers! I hope this post finds you well. It's Saturday and a drill weekend, so Sean is working. Logan is napping, so I thought I'd write a quick post. I hope everyone had a nice mother's day. I had a nice relaxing day with Sean and Logan. Logan "made" me a cute little project while he was at the YMCA one day, a teapot with a tea bag inside! He put quite an effort into it, I can tell. ;0).
The other day we had to stop at the mall for a few things and putting aside my germaphobe fears, I let Logan get out of the stroller to play in the kids area. He had a BLAST. He loved it. Of course his favorite were the cars and climbed in and out of them a million times. There were a few little girls that were chasing him around and he thought that was hilarious. Already being chased by girls at 18 months, what am I gonna do?!

And the "Excitement" title is because we are coming back to MN in two weeks already! We are really excited to spend some time with family and I am really excited to head to France for a week for my friend's wedding. I have only had three, count them, 1, 2, 3, nights away from Logan in all of his 18 months, so I really need a break. Why not go to France? Hehe.
In other news, I started to try to write articles for websites for a little extra $ and the first one I wrote was just published today! Click here to read the article. There was a little editing done to it, so it was kind of weird to read what I wrote with some changes that someone else made, but it's cool nonetheless.
Alright, hope everyone has a nice weekend!!

Mother's Day

Mom at the cabin, her favorite place to be!

Hello, and Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's and mom's to be out there! I wanted to take a special post to talk about my mom. Yesterday I happened upon an old journal and read it. Of course it pathetically centered around my lust for boys, but it made me think about when I was a kid and teenager. Right now I cannot even fathom what it would be like to be the mother of a teenager, all I have is experience of mothering a baby and a toddler. All I know is that if I could be half the mother my mom was to me, I will be a great mother. Somehow being a mom myself puts what my mom is to me in perspective.

It makes me a little teary-eyed thinking about my mom and what to write about her. I miss my family so much being away from them all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love my life and the family we built here in CA, but I know my life would be fuller and richer if I could spend more time with my family and my mom.

I do not even know where to begin to describe what my mom has done for me. I definitely didn't take for granted all the things my mom did and has done for me, but now I can fully understand the self-sacrifice that is involved with being a mom. I thought about listing a lot of the things she has done that I appreciate (the sleepless nights with my asthma problems, those countless hours at the ice rink, the countless dollars spent on college, and the many flights to CA to come help me out, etc. etc. etc.) but this post would take days to read. She knows all of the things that I am thinking of. ;0)

So, Happy Mother's Day mom! I miss you so much and wish I could spend the day with you. We will be seeing you in a few weeks and I can't wait!!

Love, Katie

Logan talking

Hello! Look at my new summer outfit!
Please don't post this pic, mom.

Above were some pics from yesterday. He needs another haircut again, right? Sean won't let me get him one. That little bathing suit he has on is supposed to be a swim diaper, and let us tell you from experience, it does not contain poo 100%. Grr..... Below is a video of Logan talking. He is saying so many words now and is quite the smart little bugger! It's been so nice here lately that we brought out his little blow-up pool and he even has started to say his version of swimming "schwimng." It's really cute. His black eye is healing nicely and almost gone. He is actually getting another tooth in, which will make 13 teeth!

Logan will be 18 months old on May 6th. Where has the time gone? We have a Dr. appt. that day too. He's been hanging around 21 pounds for a while now, so we will see what the doctor says. He's just a skinny little man! Hmmm....throughout the day Logan does hilarious stuff and I always think to myself that I'm going to write it down on the blog, and now that I'm blogging, I have a blank head. Oh well. Enjoy this super cute video-and make sure to watch it to the end. He says his favorite word..... ("no").
